iDontwanttogethacked: My Dream of Becoming a Mobile Application Developer to Address Privacy Issues

I have always wanted to pursue the job of being a Mobile Application Developer. As a person that often uses mobile gadgets, I have seen the importance of the people behind the creation of the applications and interfaces that make our lives better and easier. If someone were to total the number of hours I have spent on my cellphone and tablet, it would most likely exceed one hundred (100) hours. Having said that, it goes to show just how often I use my mobile gadgets and I believe that it is important to be a Mobile Application Developer so that I can help improve the daily use and consumption of those with mobile gadgets. 

"Genshin Impact" and its Privacy Issues

During this new normal, more and more people have been starting to depend on their mobile gadgets, may it be for leisure, entertainment, or for business. For example, if one were to buy something from an online business, one would have to enter their personal details, such as their name, contact details, credit card information, and other important details. It is very important that these details are kept private and only for the use of the person intended to. Recently, I have been addicted to this mobile game called "Genshin Impact." The developers of Genshin Impact have been under fire for various privacy issues where players lose their accounts or at risk of being hacked due to a lack of security protocols. Of course, this problem is not only limited to Genshin Impact but other applications as well. The risk of users losing their privacy and having their security and information compromised is a problem that must be addressed. I want to become a Mobile Application Developer for that very reason and I wish to improve and develop these security protocols so that users will no longer feel at risk of losing their important data.

Bit by Bit: My First Encounter with a “Computer”

My love for computers started with these educational laptops, as seen on the right. My parents bought me a V-Tech My Laptop, similar to the one in the image, and I would often play with it. Those little buttons which taught me about the ABCs with one click had me engrossed from start to finish. I could not let go of it, but I later graduated from these educational laptops and started using our PC (Personal Computer) to play educational games.

When I first used our computer, I was astonished by its numerous functions; it was as if I entered into a whole new world. My educational laptop was indeed a toy–one that paled in comparison to the real thing. In a fascinated child’s eyes, the computer was “magical” because you can learn and do almost anything under the sun with a few clicks.

As I was tinkering with my computer, I discovered the website Y8 and was obsessed with its catalog of diverse games for a long time. Later on, I started using the PC more often and continuously discovered new features every time. I may have been intimidated by the computer at first, but I learned how to use it bit by bit.
